Office Administration


The Office Administration certificate program can provide qualified students with a short-term approach to help them prepare for entry into the business world. Gibbs teaches the essential skills required in the modern office, including information processing, computerized office systems, and records management. The program can help students prepare for positions in the business world that require a high degree of initiative and offer opportunities for professional advancement. Upon completion of the certificate program, students may elect to continue their studies in our Associate in Science degree program in office administration. All successfully completed courses in the Office Administration certificate program will transfer into the associate degree program in Office Administration at Gibbs College – Cranston.

Program Outcomes Upon completion of the program, the graduate should be able to:
  • Communicate clearly and coherently using written and oral skills to meet various needs in the office setting
  • Manage the use of time and other resources to complete tasks and attain goals
  • Organize, produce, and process electronic and paper communications to assist the flow of information in the workplace and to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate an understanding and application of various software programs
  • Use the internet and its tools to conduct research
